Therapeutical Approach

Are you looking for a therapist who understands the complex layers of your life and does not ask you to fit into a box? I offer myself as that person. As a psychotherapist, social justice advocate, and immigrant person of colour from a collectivistic culture, I bring a unique lens to understanding the relationship between individuals and their intersectional experiences.

Drawing upon my rich tapestry of encounters with racism, sexism, trauma, immigration, and acculturation, I am committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and validated. In my person-centred and strength-based practice, I serve as an ally โ€“ an accomplice โ€“ in breaking the stigmas around mental health. As a South Asian woman, I deeply value my cultural inheritance of storytelling, positive meaning-making, collaboration, and self-compassion.

I am a trauma-informed therapist committed to supporting people to build their self-esteem, healthy relationship skills, communication strategies, and conflict resolution styles. I help folks explore their identity and understand their experience of anger, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

With over 6-years of experience working with men and women who perpetrated abuse and aggression in their intimate partner relationships, I strongly advocate for men’s mental health rights. I understand the need to engage men and boys in ending gender-based violence. I also have long-standing experience working with survivors of domestic, interpersonal, and honour-based violence, supporting survivors through their healing journey, and co-creating their resilience narratives.

If you seek a therapist who comprehends and celebrates your unique life journey without holding any judgment, consider booking a free consultation call with me. Let’s embark on this transformative journey, embracing our inherent strength and diversity.
